About Us
Historically family and community was a stable and permanent fixture in supporting faith life and faith choices. That is now the exception rather than the rule. Many adults don’t make permanent faith commitments until well into their lives. Youth today are growing up fast. Whereas High School was a key time in intercepting youth who were struggling to stay involved in the Church, that now happens in Middle School. So much competes for their time and interest. STATIC is a force in challenging the youth to recognize the call of God within their lives and to begin to take responsibility for their own faith life since many parents are no longer committed to this end.
STATIC, Students Taking Action Together In Christ, is a multi-dimensional program that incorporates the best elements of catechetical curriculum and Youth Ministry concepts. Recognizing the unique growth and developmental needs of Middle School pre-adolescents, STATIC leads students toward personal ownership of their faith while providing solid structure and training for the adults who lead them.
Using the eight principles of Youth Ministry as outlined by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in their document: Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry as a guide, STATIC has eight essential concepts as it’s foundation.
They are:
- Christ Center
- Bible Based
- Eucharistic People
- Service to Others
- Church Doctrine
- Community of Believers
- Prayer
- Participation
Developed and written by seasoned catechists STATIC provides for all your needs:
- Textbook Materials
- Catechist Guides
- Journals
- Retreat
- Large Group Events and Activities
- Whole Community Catechesis
It has been said that Middle School, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, is the forgotten Church. Often because of the challenging nature of pre-adolescence, there is little offered that respects their unique learning styles and personality, in the way of faith experiences. STATIC challanges students in a way that will be fun, unforgettable and most importantly fill their faith based needs.
